Ojai Roots — a pandemic-born regenerative farm concept focused on building a robust local food system — is opening a 100-acre farmhouse dining experience at 10999 Santa Ana Road in Ventura. According to the company’s website, The Ranch will be fully operational at the end of 2023.

Founded by farmer/entrepreneur/food systems reform advocate Evan Arango at the peak of the pandemic, Ojai Roots’ mission transmuted from a resource for family and friends to a reimagined agriculture expedition that champions diverse and ecologically focused farms.

An umbrella for varying eco projects, OR operates The Arbolada — a 30-acre vegetable market-garden that includes an avocado orchard, two small Syrah vineyards, and several citrus and stone fruit orchards; Paso Farm — a stretch of Paso Robles that is the primary home to OR’s cattle herd and offers a vineyard and an olive orchard; and, soon, The Ranch, which will include greenhouses, beautifully terraced gardens, and a farmhouse.

A recently-filed ABC application for the address suggests alcohol will be part of the experience at The Ranch, though it’s currently unclear in what capacity.
