Alhambra Valley Bowl, a refreshed bowling facility under new ownership, is getting ready to open in Alhambra at 1400 E Valley Blvd.
The new concept, which is taking over the former home of Golden Mile Bowl, is being led by owners Andre Eubanks, Lynn Matsubara, and Roberta Vann, who recently announced the acquisition on social media. Roof repairs and facility upgrades are currently underway, though an exact reopening date has not yet been announced. The owners say the center will serve league bowlers, tournament players, and casual open-play visitors alike. The ownership group recently submitted a liquor license application for a Type 47 – On-Sale General Eating Place, indicating that the venue will offer both food and alcoholic beverages for guests to enjoy on site.
Golden Mile Bowl originally opened in 2013 as a family-owned bowling and entertainment venue. Located just off Garfield Avenue in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, the center was known for catering to families and local leagues throughout Los Angeles. The transition to Alhambra Valley Bowl marks a new chapter for the space, with its new owners aiming to modernize and reintroduce it to the bowling community.
The 32-lane center is being positioned as a destination for both competitive and recreational bowlers, according to a post from Eubanks. The owners bring experience in the bowling industry and plan to foster a strong community atmosphere through league play, tournaments, and beginner-friendly programming.
Upgrades to the facility are currently focused on roof improvements, with more renovations expected ahead of reopening. The center’s size and location make it a rare large-scale bowling venue in the area, and the team behind Alhambra Valley Bowl plans to use that footprint to build long-term growth.
“Roberta, Lynn, and I are excited and looking forward to serving bowlers in Southern California!” Eubanks shared in a public post. “Our 32 lane facility will be league and tournament friendly, while also serving the open play community and creating new lifelong bowlers.”
