Nashville hot chicken restaurant Al’s Hot Chicken is getting ready to expand significantly throughout Los Angeles County, starting with El Monte at 3854 Peck Rd.

Currently, the company has four locations: three in Los Angeles and one in Tacoma, Washington. The company, led by owner Almasri Abdal, is now adding even more locations in Southern California, starting with El Monte opening on Oct. 15. After that, the company will expand to Fresno, Inglewood, Thousand Oaks, Al Hambra, and Hawthorne, according to the company’s Instagram. The exact opening dates of these locations are unknown, but a representative from the company says the Hawthorne location is a ways away from opening.

When these new restaurants open, customers can expect delicious halal chicken that is always fresh and never frozen. The fast-casual restaurant offers all the standards, such as chicken strips, a chicken sandwich, chicken & waffles, and plenty of delicious sides. All entrees are served with toast, fries, and pickles. Those who want to change things up can adjust the spiciness of the chicken sandwich. The hottest one can get is X HOT, which is advertised as Los Angeles’ hottest sandwich with 2.2 million Scoville heat units. Those interested must sign a waiver.

“It all started years ago when Al experimented with different recipes to improve the taste of fried chicken,” according to the company’s website. “After adding his improved Nashville-style chicken to his restaurant’s menu, long lines started to form; It was then when he decided to share his passion for great flavors with the rest of the World with the creation of Al’s Hot Chicken!”
