The ever-growing American Deli franchise is opening up a new location on 3278 Slauson Ave — at the cross-section of Crenshaw — up the street from its 2847 Crenshaw Blvd spot. What Now Los Angeles (WNLA) confirmed with American Deli Franchisee Peter Kim that there is indeed another one opening up down the street, with a possible November move-in.
While Kim was brief on the phone, he emphasized to WNLA, “It’s a franchise.” This new location is just a short drive from the former, but it’s actually the third opening in the proximity of Inglewood and Vernon — another location at 425 E Manchester Blvd. The new American Deli location will occupy the old Hong Kong Express space, which closed its doors earlier this year, within the Crenshaw Plaza Center.
The majority of this nationwide restaurant is in Atlanta, where it opened its doors for the first time in 1989. There are plenty more on the way. The website lists a fraction of locations currently open, along with more to come in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. Having celebrated its 30th-anniversary last year, American Deli is clearly not done expanding. The website also reads: “We hope that you all have enjoyed the last 30 years and are as excited as we are for the wonderful things still to come in the next thirty!”
