A brand new restaurant called ATX Tacos is making its long-awaited restaurant debut in Highland Park, located at 4672 York Blvd.

Partner Gannon Weathers tells What Now Los Angeles the brick-and-mortar is currently undergoing inspections, and he hopes to open before the end of the year. Weathers has been working on opening this new restaurant since the start of the pandemic, but multiple delays have occurred. In the meantime, the restaurant has begun to share its authentic Austin-style tacos at Santa Monica’s Colony Kitchen. The company’s social media also mentions a new location coming to Venice.

Both locations will offer several different breakfast and lunch tacos; all served on a flour tortilla. For breakfast, the restaurant will offer $5 tacos with meat options brisket, pulled pork, bacon, sausage, and more. The lunch tacos offer the same meat options, with more savory ingredients such as cole slaw and salsa roja. Vegetarian options are available as well. For those who don’t want a taco, ATX Tacos also offers a brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich; both are $10. To finish the menu, the restaurant offers a few $5 sides, including chips and guac, chips and queso, Spanish rice, and refried beans.

The upcoming York Boulevard location will be a good start for ATX Tacos, considering few taco restaurants are found on the street other than Charlies Tacos, Villas Tacos Los Angeles, and Tacos La Estrella. Few details have been revealed regarding the potential Venice location, and the site is not mentioned on the company’s website.

“We are thrilled to bring our vision to life, and we look forward to becoming a productive part of this unique community for years to come,” Gannon tells What Now Los Angeles.
