Even proud Angelenos can admit that New York pizza lives up to the hype. Lucky for us, Joe’s Pizza is expanding to take care of our insatiable cravings.

With pizzerias in the Sunset Strip, Hollywood, Downtown, and Sherman Oaks, Sicilian-born Joe Vitale is bringing his authentic New York-style pizza to Beverly Hills. Joe’s Pizza will move into 9527 S Santa Monica Boulevard, which had formerly been occupied by Kuwait-inspired breakfast spot The Kind Ones.

Vitale began his culinary journey in 1978 when he moved from Sicily to Brooklyn, where he worked in a local bakery and “learned from the best” under a Sicilian baker. In the early 80s, Vitale moved on to master pizza, which he worked diligently at until 2003 when he opened his first Joe’s Pizza in Park Slope Brooklyn. After a few years of serving his classic pies to New Yorkers, Vitale “moved to Los Angeles to bring a taste of New York to the West Coast.”

After 40 years in the kitchen, Vitale has perfected his pies. Joe’s Pizza offers “no-nonsense pizza” that is light, airy, crispy, and tasty. From a classic slice of cheese or pepperoni to a grandma slice, made with special homemade marinara, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil, Joe’s Pizza will have you coming back for more.

Owner Vitale told What Now Los Angeles that he plans to open Joe’s Pizza in Beverly Hills in 3-4 weeks.
