Philip and Jessica Nguyen together run Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches, which sits adjacently to Jessica Nails & Spa, the pair’s other business, at 1413 S Victoria Ave E in Ventura. The success of their pursuit has led to the former of the two businesses — a traditional Vietnamese restaurant that offers sandwiches on freshly baked bread — to branch out into a new neighborhood. Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches’ second home will be on 599 W Channel Islands Blvd in Port Hueneme where Body Fuel Bistro had closed down last September, according to a Facebook update.
Philip told What Now Los Angeles of his excitement to open up in this new area, a place where a lot of Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches’ customers already live. Nguyen wants customers to expect more of the same thing as the first location. The same service, food, and aesthetic — everything the customers love about the first Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches will be duplicated here while expanding it and making it more convenient for the locals.
Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches serves not just fresh sandwiches but traditional Vietnamese spring rolls, egg rolls, baguettes, pho, and rye noodles — all of it made from scratch. Nguyen emphasized its Vietnamese coffee, one of Banh Mi Paris Sandwiches’ staples.
“It’s really hard to predict the market,” Philip said of the opening timeline. The Nguyens are hoping for a mid-January or early-February debut, but it’s a little up in the air, especially due to the unclear future of the pandemic and where that leaves restaurant owners.
