Farmhouse Kitchen, a Thai restaurant with four locations in the Bay Area (including sister concept Daughter Thai), next year will open its first SoCal outpost, Eater LA first reported.

Kasem “Pop” Saengsawang has secured space formerly occupied by a Chinese eatery for the new restaurant, at 5560 W Adams Blvd in the West Adams neighborhood, because of its expansive patio, the co-owner and chef Tuesday told What Now Los Angeles in a telephone interview.

It should open “seven months from now” which puts Farmhouse Kitchen’s L.A. debut sometime around July 2020.

“People are not only looking for good food but an exceptional experience,” Saengsawang said.

“Our food is fun to eat and totally different.”

Aside from its patio, which has seating for 50, Saengsawang said he chose the West Adams locale “because I love the area and it’s not too busy.”

“We can draw in people easier without any competition.”

Saengsawang taught himself to cook as a child living in northern Thailand’s countryside and needing to care for his sister, the restauranteur said.

“I had to get creative and make dishes my sister would eat while only having access to local ingredients.”

With a mantra of “cooking with a good heart and positive energy,” Farmhouse Kitchen’s menu is presented in “the point of view of my childhood memories.”

West Adams won’t be the last opening or venture for the Thai chef.

He plans on franchising the concept starting in 2024 and is working on bottling several of the restaurant’s signature sauces for retail selling as early as next year.

“We are so proud of our culture and we look forward to representing it through our food.”
