For about 33 years, San Francisco Deli and Market has operated in Long Beach at 1203 E 4th St. Navsher Singh will now take over the property, converting it into a liquor-focused space called Beer King Market. Singh also owns Loma Mini Market at 1600 Loma Ave, just a short drive away.

Singh told What Now Los Angeles (WNLA) that he took over the space recently from the long-time owners of the previous business, as well as the liquor license in a temporary capacity. The license will officially be locked down, under his name, in the next month. By then, Singh hopes everything inside and out will be finished. As far as that goes, the place definitely had the bones for what he’s wanting to do. As of right now, they’re updating the interior with better shelves and getting the electrical work done.

According to him, most of what he’s doing is rebranding, as his idea was to continue what San Francisco Deli and Market established. The previous business used to sell sandwiches and operated much like a bodega, but over time they turned more into what Beer King Market will be, with more of an emphasis on liquor sales, according to Singh. His new liquor shop project doesn’t have a set opening as things get squared away within the space.
