The legendary Blue Note Jazz Club is officially making its debut in Los Angeles, located at 6372 Sunset Boulevard, with its doors opening on August 14 in Hollywood, featuring a performance by five-time Grammy-winning artist Robert Glasper. Glasper, also serving as the venue’s creative ambassador, will kick off the first season of programming set to run into 2025.
Blue Note LA brings the brand’s signature blend of music and dining to the West Coast, according to a press release. The new venue will feature a full-service kitchen and bar, offering dinner during evening performances and weekend brunch service. The menu, crafted by Chef Asaf Maoz of Carmel, focuses on bold, globally inspired flavors that complement the club’s genre-spanning sound. A cocktail program inspired by jazz-era classics will round out the experience.
With a capacity of 200 in the main room and 100 in a secondary “B-Side” space, the venue emphasizes intimacy, drawing from the energy of its iconic New York counterpart while tapping into LA’s unique cultural rhythm. Designed by Legeard Studio, the interior pairs mid-century modern aesthetics with the raw edge of classic jazz.
Programming will spotlight both local and international talent across jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and experimental genres. Highlights include residencies and performances by Andra Day, Kamasi Washington, Branford Marsalis, Esperanza Spalding, Killer Mike, Charlie Puth, Tank and the Bangas, and more. Each artist is scheduled for two nightly shows at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
“We’re building something that reflects LA’s creative energy,” Alex Kurland, Director of Programming at Blue Note Entertainment Group, said in a press release. “It’s about the music, but also the community and the experience.”
Blue Note LA joins a global family of venues in New York, Tokyo, Milan, Napa, and beyond. With food, music, and atmosphere sharing equal billing, this new outpost is poised to become a staple in LA’s live music and dining scene.
