Korean fried chicken restaurant Bonchon is opening three new locations throughout Los Angeles County.

The exact area of all locations is unknown, but franchisee Kenneth Park tells What Now Los Angeles he hopes to open the first location in the Santa Clarita area in late 2022. Bonchon currently has one location in Los Angeles County, with another in Artesia, located at 17901 Pioneer Blvd., coming to the Artesia Oasis Plaza, although this will not be owned by Park. These new locations prove the company is ramping up its growth initiative in key cities across the United States.

“The SoCal community and Bonchon go together seamlessly,” said Greg Buchanan, chief administrative officer at Bonchon. “Not only is our food loved by residents throughout the L.A. area already, but also the diverse cultures in the city make this a perfect fit. As we continue on our journey to grow with multi-unit operators, we are eager to connect with many talented individuals passionate about spreading Bonchon’s culture and flavors to communities across the world.”

There are several other factors driving Bonchon’s impressive momentum. First, the company reached a 21 percent five-year growth rate and has secured several commitments from franchise groups. Next, Bonchon has consistently outperformed its segments and cuisines in its two-year metrics. Founder Jinduk Seo Jinduk, who dreamed of sharing his favorite flavors with the world, now has 385-plus units worldwide including in the countries of Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
