Boochies Matcha Bistro, a nutrition-forward cafe concept specializing in ceremonial matcha and wellness-based food offerings, is preparing to open in Camarillo this fall at 4986 Verdugo Way.

The upcoming location will move into the former Cold Stone Creamery and Subway space at The Plaza Mission Oaks, just a few doors down from Old New York Deli. Owner Rebekah Ball, a longtime nutritionist and matcha importer, tells What Now Los Angeles that the team is targeting a November 15 opening, pending final plan approvals with the city. Guests can expect a full menu centered on matcha-based drinks, fresh juices, superfood shakes, and gluten-free vegetarian fare.

This will be the second iteration of Boochies, following the original cafe, which Ball opened years ago in Santa Barbara and has since closed. The new Camarillo location expands on her previous work while drawing from her experience in the organic supplement space and her matcha distribution company, Got Matcha, which supplies Whole Foods and other retailers. Ball has been sourcing ceremonial-grade matcha directly from farms in Kirishima, Japan, since the late 1990s.

Boochies Matcha Bistro will feature a menu that spans matcha flights, seasonal lattes, and specialty beverages, including options like the Vanilla Chai Matcha Latte, Matchaga Hot Chocolate, and Frosty Pumpkin Spice Matcha. The cafe will also offer raw juices, house-made veggie burgers, gluten-free breakfast pizzas, and nutrient-rich wraps built on coconut tortillas.

The matcha for all drinks will be sourced from Ball’s Got Matcha label, emphasizing direct farm relationships and organic practices. Boochies will also offer a full six-drink juice cleanse and kid-friendly smoothie options.

Ball’s background in nutrition and health counseling helped shape the Boochies concept, with an emphasis on clean ingredients and functional food. She sees the Camarillo location as a long-term hub for wellness-minded guests seeking high-quality matcha and whole-food meals in a casual, accessible environment.
