DTLA’s Bottega Louie is finally opening its long-awaited West Hollywood outpost. Well, part of it, at least. That’s according to WEHOville’s Henry E. (Hank) Scott who spoke with Chris Bollenbach, a partner in the multifaceted Bottega Louie — part restaurant, part market, part patisserie. But it’s only the patisserie part that is set to open next week on November 9, according to Scott. Bottega Louie reps on Thursday did not immediately respond to a request for comment by What Now Los Angeles.

Out of its patisserie, Angelenos will be able to grab takeaway items including the company’s French macaron cookies. The opening of the restaurant itself, at 8936 Santa Monica Blvd., could happen slowly after, but Bollenbach did not provide a timeline for a full-blown debut of Bottega Louie. As Scott points out, the space is equipped with a large outdoor area, so, theoretically, while indoor dining is not allowed in LA County currently, the restaurant could start serving alfresco.

“We are going through an iterative process,” Bollenbach told WEHOville. “At some time we will feel that we can open the kitchen.” Bottega Louie has been years in the making. It was originally slated to debut in 2017, and then again at the end of 2019. The latest delay was in March 2020, which well, aligned perfectly with the worst possible timing — the onset of the pandemic.
