Established chef Brian Dunsmoor is opening a brand new restaurant called Dunsmoor near Glassell Park, located at 3501 Eagle Rock Blvd.
The well-known chef has made a name for himself by working in some of Los Angeles’ best restaurants and pop-ups, including the Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing pop-up out of Venice, Hart & the Hunter in West Hollywood, and then six years at Hatchet Hall. Now, the Ohio native is getting ready to open his own restaurant sometime this month. Dunsmoor lands in prime real estate after the building fell through the hands of the Mh Zh team. The new restaurant will join Grant, a vibey cocktail bar, and Bub & Grandma’s.
When Dunsmoor opens up later this month, guests can expect 18-foot ceilings, terracotta tiles, rich oak touches, and rustic plasterwork, according to Eater LA. The 80-person dining room will offer views of the kitchen, while another 18 guests can fit at the wine bar and 15 more outside on the patio. The beautifully designed restaurant will serve some of the city’s best Southern-leaning cuisine from Chef Dunsmoor.
Dunsmoor created this menu based on his experiences in each restaurant he’s worked in, where Southern food is always a factor. The longtime Los Angeles resident has worked with everything from artisanal hams and sour milk cornbread to Atlantic coast seafood. When the new restaurant opens, guests can expect an array of wood-fired meats and dishes from inland polyglot cooking, such as pierogis, preserves, and more. All of the delicious food can be enjoyed with various wines near an open fire.
