Burrata House hopes to open a second location in the city this spring. Found at 3272 Motor Ave., right off the Santa Monica Freeway, and with a food truck, Ape Car Food Truck, rolling around the streets of LA, Burrata House serves authentic Italian Burrata made locally for locals to enjoy.
Referred to as the creamy cousin of mozzarella, burrata originated from a small area of the Apulia region in the 1920’s before it became widely available in the 50s. The pure, sweet and fresh cheese hides creamy stacciatella that is wrapped inside its delicate mozzarella shell.
“We’ve been around since 2019,” Co-Founder and CEO of Burrata House Antonello Dato told What Now Los Angeles.
After opening a second location on Hollywood Boulevard that wasn’t a great fit Dato kept looking for a better spot.
“We actively searched for locations for a while, all while trying to figure out how to navigate the pandemic and plan for expansion. We looked at a bunch of places,” Dato explained. “In the end this came about and we got favorable terms. This spot is great for our target demographic with a lot of young brands around that target our niche demographic.”
The second location will be located on the 100 block of S. Crescent Heights Blvd. Nearby places include Sweetfin Poke, Sweetgreen and Tabla By Sofi.
CBRE Vice President Brandon Cohan represented the landlord in the deal and Camile Camper represented the tenant.
“We specialize in fast preparation service times with super healthy food that we try to keep as authentic as possible,” Dato said. “Burrata House was founded by a bunch of Italians and we consider ourselves a product company.”
Designed for customers to get their food and go Burrata House offers an assortment of pastas, panini and salad bowls for customers to choose from.
“We streamline fine Italian foods into simple, easy to prepare meals,” Dato added.
While the details were not disclosed, Dato could add a third location as soon as this summer.
I enjoyed them while they were at H&H, but let’s be honest, they’re more of a “3rd St” crowd…
