A brand new Italian concept, Carasau Pasta Bar, is preparing to debut in Beverly Grove, located at 8312 W 3rd Street.

This is the latest from Vincenzo Porcu, the owner of Carasau Sardinian Restaurant in Culver City, according to a recent liquor license application. Carasau Pasta Bar will move into the former home of Chicas Tacos, although the company still has locations in Culver City and Miracle Mile. It’s unclear exactly when this new restaurant will open, but it will offer some of the best Italian food in Los Angeles. This is a massive accomplishment for Porcu, born in Cagliari, the capital and largest city of the island of Sardinia, a region of Italy.

“The idea of visiting America first came to me when I was 22,” according to the company’s website. “Since then, I have been back and forth to NY many times until I decided to stay in LA, where I was able to have many work experiences. It was during a vacation in 2005 to Los Angeles that ultimately persuaded me to make this my new home. I love Los Angeles, and, in some ways, it reminds me of Sardinia. After working for a large family of restaurateurs, the Drago family, four Sicilian brothers who have many places in this town, I decided to open my Carasau Sardinian Restaurant in Culver City.”

When Porcu arrived in Los Angeles, he realized many Italian restaurants didn’t specialize in Sardinian cooking. As a result, the business owner decided to dedicate his restaurant to this concept. Now, after a handful of years successfully providing residents of Culver City with a delicious taste of his homeland, Porcu is ready to expand with a brand new, yet similar, concept, expected to open before the end of the year. Carasau Pasta Bar does not have an official opening date at this time.
