Chef Jason Neroni has plans to open a new pizzeria in town.
He announced the big news on Instagram last week.
“When the world goes back to normal I will be opening a pizzeria in the magnificent A-Frame building on Washington,” he said. “It will be based on my travels in Tokyo and their exceptional pizzas.”
He said it will also be influenced by his other pizzeria, B Side Pizza and Wine Bar, in New York City.
Neroni also runs The Rose Venice, which he says pays homage to Pizza Savoy in Tokyo but with his own personal twist. New to the menu is the big eye tuna pizza that is marinated in ginger oil, miso, sweet potato and kewpi puree, wasabi vinaigrette, and scallion curls.
The Rose Venice opened in the heart of Venice in 1979 and Neroni has been at the helm since 2014. The menu focuses on local Southern California cuisine with international influence from Neroni’s world travels.
