Ludo and Krissy Lefebvre — the minds behind Petit Trois bistro in Hollywood and Sherman Oaks — recently ended their eight-year partnership with J&V Group.
J&V is a company owned by chef-restaurateurs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, the duo responsible for LA’s beloved Jon & Vinny’s which recently opened its fourth location in Beverly Hills. The Bedford Drive eatery even features the brand’s first designated Helen’s wine bar.
While the split between the Lefebvres and J&V was more than amicable — Shook and Dotolo are excited to embark on individual projects — the decision brought about a new partnership between the Lefebvres and hospitality firm Apres Cru. In conjunction with the firm, the Lefebvres have created L’Espérance Hospitality.
L’Espérance will serve as the umbrella for the Lefebvre’s two currently-undetermined incoming restaurants: “one in the space adjacent to Petit Trois Le Valley in Sherman Oaks [which appears to be the former Donny’s Breakfast Spot located at 13701 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423], and another in the former home of Trois Mec…next to the original Petit Trois, in Hollywood [716 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038].” These projects are slated to open in or around the summer of 2023.
Trois Mec was Lefebvre’s Michelin-starred tasting menu restaurant that closed in 2020, but it may eventually make a comeback, according to Chef Lefebvre, as he still yearns for “the French froufrou — the creativity aspect.”
Ludobab, Chef Lefebvre’s takeout kebab pop-up “created as a pandemic-era pivot” may also return as a result of the new partnership.
Additionally, the partnership will enable the Lefebrvres to expand the acclaimed Petit Trois “into other California locales and eventually into other states.”
However, before expansion takes place, the Lefebvres will more immediately renovate their Hollywood location, altering the patio for the incoming winter and introducing new menu items to both spots.
