Celebrating the best of authentic and innovative Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, Chotto Matte is getting ready to expand into Beverly Hills.

Determined to create an exciting yet accessible fine dining experience, Kurt Zdesar traveled throughout the world, from Japan to Peru, and met with local Chefs to learn traditional techniques. It didn’t take long for him to set his heart on Nikkei cuisine, featuring bold, eye-catching natural colors and mouth-watering taste sensations. Zdesar started Chotto Matte in 2013 in London’s SoHo neighborhood. Now, this one-of-a-kind concept can be found in London’s Marylebone, Miami’s South Beach, Downtown Toronto, and Marsa Arabia.

Chotto Matte restaurants are set in stylish and contemporary architectural spaces in the world’s most inspirational cities. Another influential city that is set to receive its own Chotto Matte in early 2023 is San Francisco. The new Union Square location will mark the restaurant’s first Northern California site, while the Beverly Hills location will serve the majority of Southern California. Zdesar hopes to continue expanding the brand throughout the world but doesn’t have any other additional sites currently.

“Displaying urban flair and avant-garde design features, Chotto Matte delivers an unforgettable ambiance that is both vibrant and electric,” according to the company’s website. “From the theatrics of the sushi counter and flaming robata grill to live entertainment and DJs, it’s an immersive experience with something new to discover everywhere you look. “

When these new locations open, customers can expect an elevated style of service in many different ways. The Nikkei cuisine is presented by Executive Chef Jordan Sclare, who brings an artistic approach to Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. Chotto Matte’s Tokyo to Lima cocktail collection explores new and unlikely flavors made to complement most dishes on the menu. Finally, the restaurant features different art through collaborations with like-minded creatives, artists, fashion designers, and more.
