CoffeeDrunk, the California-based coffee house with three locations in Long Beach and one in Phoenix, Arizona, has announced a new shop in Belmont Shore.
According to Longbeachize, CoffeeDrunk is taking over the Aroma di Roma space at 4708 E. 2nd St. in Belmont Shore. The news was confirmed on CoffeeDrunk’s Instagram, noting “Belmont Shore Coming Soon”.
Aroma di Roma confirmed the news on Instagram, adding that its last operating day at the Belmont Shore space will be October 1.
This acquisition of Aroma di Roma’s Belmont Shore space by CoffeeDrunk is a full-circle moment for CoffeeDrunk founders Breezy and Matthew Church. Breezy is a former manager at Aroma di Roma, according to Aroma di Roma’s Tim Terrell, who gave a shout-out to the couple in his heartfelt Instagram message.
CoffeeDrunk is best known for its whimsically-named drinks such as the “Frinds with Benefits”, a shaken iced espresso with house-made vanilla and caramel syrup, milk, and garnished with raw cane sugar; and the “Instigator”, a shaken iced espresso with maple, brown sugar, and a touch of milk.
Other offerings include the “Phat Americano”, a 16 oz. Mexican Coke poured over ice with an espresso float, the “Long Beach Lemonade”, a mix of fresh lemon, tonic, French vanilla, and an espresso float; and its own take on the PSL — the “Lil’ Slice”, a hot drink made with espresso, milk, maple syrup, and house-made pumpkin sauce.
Caffeine fans won’t have to wait long for their lattes. CoffeeDrunk anticipates a short turnaround time, with plans to open its Belmont Shore shop in time for the holidays.
