Crab N’ Spice, a casual seafood boil restaurant known for its Cajun-seasoned shellfish and customizable combos, is preparing to open in Northridge at 18677 Devonshire Street.
The company’s latest location is set to open in the former home of Kababe Grill, according to a recent liquor license application. Franchise owner John De Chavez, who is opening this location with partner Evangeline De Chavez, tells What Now Los Angeles that construction is set to begin shortly, with the team aiming to open within the next six months, if everything goes according to plan. When it opens, customers can expect fresh seafood, signature sauces, and a casual, mess-friendly atmosphere.
Crab N’ Spice operates multiple locations across California, Nevada, and Arizona, including restaurants in Palmdale, Ventura, Santa Clarita, and several in the greater Las Vegas area. The brand positions itself as a family-friendly neighborhood destination for seafood lovers seeking affordable, flavorful meals served in a laid-back setting.
The Northridge location will offer dine-in service, as well as takeout, delivery, curbside pickup, and catering. De Chavez noted that the team is still finalizing interior plans, but the location will follow the brand’s typical model and menu.
Menu offerings include seafood by the pound, such as shrimp, crab legs, clams, mussels, and lobster tails, served with sauces like Garlic Butter, Cajun Hawaiian, and the extra-spicy Assassin8. Guests can also choose from combo platters, such as the Captain’s Choice, Pirate’s Choice, and Castaway, which combine multiple proteins with sides like corn, potatoes, sausage, and quail eggs.
The restaurant also serves fried baskets including tilapia, calamari, wings, and sweet potato fries, along with clam chowder, rice, and house-made beignets. Dietary preferences are supported through a fully customizable order system, and a rewards program is available for frequent guests.
