Glendora looks to be getting a little sweeter as a baked goods franchise might be moving in to a shopping center in town.
Crumbl Cookies is listed as the tenant in a new lease for 1365 E Gladstone St., suite 500. The lease term is listed for five years. The 1,200-square-foot suite was previously home to the Pacific Fish Grill. It would be the third outpost in Southern California for the growing brand, joining existing outposts in Rancho Santa Margarita and San Diego.
Officials from Crumbl did not respond for a request for comment by the time of publication.
Crumbl’s menu offers four different specialty flavors (selected out of more than 120 weekly rotating choices) to taste and enjoy. Milk chocolate chip and chilled sugar cookies are always available.
The very first Crumbl opened in 2017 in Logan, Utah, co-founded by cousins Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan. Hemsley is the company’s COO and McGowan is CEO.
They wanted “the perfect combination of flour, sugar, and chocolate chips,” according to Crumbl’s website. “After thousands of dollars in wasted dough, recipes that did not live up to their expectations, and cookies that were just plain embarrassing to them today, the cousins decided to try something a little unique, A/B test their way to the perfect cookie.”
They took the exact same cookie, changed out one ingredient and randomly visited local gas stations and grocery stores and asked strangers which of the two cookies tasted better.
“They continued this testing on ingredients and cooking methods until they came up with what they believe is the world’s best chocolate chip cookie,” the website reads.
Since then, the franchise has expanded to more than 75 locations in 11 states, nationwide.
“Each one, growing our Crumbl family and spreading fast, fresh, and gourmet cookies to Crumblrs everywhere,” the website reads.
