Dayglow, a coffee company with sites in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, is preparing to open a new location in Venice at 540 Rose Ave.
The company’s sixth location is set to move into the former home of Jeni’s Ice Creams, according to signage on the building first reported by Toddrickallen. It’s unclear when this location of Dayglow is expected to open, but the company’s fourth Los Angeles site proves impressive, considering co-owners Tohm Ifergan and his cousin Philippe started the Dayglow in Silverlake in 2018. The company is also found in West Hollywood and Larchmont.
“Philippe and I sought to open just a single cafe,” according to the company’s website. “As cousins, we didn’t know each other too well. Myself, a Mexican born native who spent most of his life touring in bands internationally. Philippe is creative with an entrepreneurial spirit like his father before him. He came to me with the idea of doing a coffee business. Something simple that could grow in the community it called home. Silver Lake was in many ways the perfect landing spot.”
Dayglow was born out of our love and curiosity about interesting coffee roasters, both internationally and domestically. In addition to offering a variety of delicious coffee options from around the world, the company also offers a subscription service, where the best coffee is selected and delivered to the customer’s door.
“As we made our coffees available online—both as single purchases and in subscription models—we didn’t want to be just another company pushing coffee,” the website continues. “We wanted what we made available for purchase to be coffees that we enjoyed personally and served at our locations. We also wanted to democratize the coffee selection process. There are really great coffee roasters all over the globe. Some are well known with sexy branding and packaging, others not so much. Those distinctions are not what make for a great cup of coffee.”
