After proving their concept by transforming a downtown Los Angeles rooftop into a ‘Benny Boy Backyard’, Chelsey Rosetter and Benjamin Farber are ready to make their dream of opening a brewery a reality.
Benny Boy Brewing, a husband and wife owned brewery is coming to Lincoln Heights, is getting closer to opening, according to Instagram posts from the company — a debut in September is likely, further reporting by Eater LA indicates.
Just yesterday the company posted that demolition day started to build the new brewery, cider house and epic beer garden.
“We have been waiting a long time to start this project and the day has finally come,” the post said.
The new brewery will border Chinatown at 1821 N Daly Street, a warehouse space currently zoned for industrial use.
The new space will have fire pits, indoor and outdoor dining, a cider room and more and will sit in a 7,617 square-foot building, according to Ventana Ventures.
“We’ve been on this quest for five years now, to bring you the beer garden of your dreams and fill your glasses with liquid gold,” the company posted onto Instagram last month.
According to the post, Ben makes the drinks and Chelsey does the rest.
“Over the next few months, we’re going to be sharing the down and dirty of opening a brewery,” the post said.
The brewery hopes to bring a bit of spirit to the historic Lincoln Heights neighborhood of northeast Los Angeles.
Its cider, including Newtown Pippin ciders made with juice from The Five Mile Orchard in Corralitos, will be made with traditional techniques and raw, fresh-pressed apple juice from southern California orchards, according to the website.
They also plan to use only whole flower hops.
