Earle’s on Crenshaw, a longtime South Los Angeles restaurant known for its hot dogs and community focus, is preparing to open a new location in Venice Beach, adjacent to the boardwalk near Marathon Burgers.

The company’s latest expansion marks a return to its original neighborhood, where brothers Cary and Duane Earle first launched the business as a Venice Beach hot dog cart in 1986. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the move brings the brand full circle nearly 40 years after it began, according to Eater Los Angeles. Customers can expect the same menu variety and community-driven approach that has defined the business for decades.

The Earle brothers opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant, Earle’s Weiners, on Crenshaw Boulevard in 1992. They later operated Earle’s Grill at Crenshaw and Exposition before settling into Crenshaw Square in 2017 under the current name, Earle’s on Crenshaw. The business has since grown into a full-service restaurant and catering company serving the greater Los Angeles area.

Known for its commitment to quality, accessibility, and local empowerment, Earle’s has built a following that extends beyond LA. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the brothers provided meals to seniors, frontline workers, and hospitals throughout the city. Today, their presence in South LA remains a staple for both longtime locals and newcomers.

The menu features traditional beef, turkey, and chicken hot dogs, along with a diverse selection of plant-based options, including Field Roast vegan links, Beyond Meat burgers, and vegan chili fries. Sides and desserts include Jamaican patties, French fries, banana pudding, and a variety of vegan cakes and pies.

This will be an excellent location for the new Earle’s, considering the Venice Beach Boardwalk’s high visibility, steady foot traffic, and cultural significance. The area’s diverse crowds and tourist appeal align well with Earle’s accessible menu, while the location marks a full-circle return to the brothers’ original roots in hot dog cart operations.
