Ken and Karen Kupetsky are opening up another location of Epic Wings in SoCal with this one landing in Northridge sometime next summer at 8742 Corbin Ave. The Kupetsys are new when it comes to franchising and this will be their first location opening up in LA, while two others are in Orange County and San Diego.

Epic Wings as a whole has over 20 locations across SoCal with some in Arizona. Several storefronts, Anaheim and Rancho Cucamonga, are also listed as “coming soon” on Epic Wing’s website. This new Northridge location opening up will be taking over a Payless Shoes store, fully renovating and building it out to match the Epic Wings brand and to facilitate a kitchen space.

The restaurant is a family-owned business that was previously known as Wings N’ Things, which started in San Diego in 1982. It changed its name to Epic Wings in 2018 while going through a massive expansion, led by president Rob Streett. As for Ken, the franchisee grew up in New York, where he developed a love for chicken wings. However, they noticed a lack of the wings they were familiar with in LA.“LA needs new chicken wings,” Ken told What Now Los Angeles.

“I like LA, I have family that lives there,” Ken said. “It’s a new market.” This won’t be the last for the Kupetskys either: “I’m going to open two locations. I know what cities to open.” Ken did not reveal what those new neighborhoods are, but the franchisee has some ideas. As for the Northridge opening, it’s slated for an opening early summer 2021.
