CAVA Celebrates Openings of Azusa and Chicago Restaurants
Popular restaurant chain CAVA expanded its footprint on July 25, 2025, by launching outlets in both Azusa and Chicago. The Mediterranean fast-casual chain serves bowls and pitas alongside an array of dips and dressings.
Since its founding, the brand has built a loyal following with its bold flavors and emphasis on hospitality.
Hannah Mathews, Regional Director, said, “Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community.”
As part of its Community Day tradition, CAVA welcomed guests with free meals ahead of the official opening. The restaurant supports a local cause through donations, which match up to $1,000.
During staff training, CAVA donated freshly prepared meals to local residents. In the fall of 2023, the company rolled out its nationwide initiative to donate surplus food.
As CAVA grows its presence in new locations, it strives to reduce food waste and alleviate food insecurity through its program.
The Community Day program has raised more than $1 million since 2019. Focused on local food insecurity, the restaurant raised funds through both monetary and food contributions.
CAVA’s efforts extend to its employees across its locations. It offers employees early wage access, free meals, mental health resources, and a comprehensive support program.
First CAVA Restaurant Opens in Azusa
CAVA made its debut in Azusa last Friday. The new outlet is located in the Citrus Crossing shopping center at 806 E Alosta Ave. Hannah Mathews, Regional Director, said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be in Azusa and continue to grow our presence in the area.”
The Azusa Community Day event saw the chain raise funds for a nonprofit organization called Food Cycle LA. The organization’s mission is to curb waste by redirecting extra food through its existing network. Surplus items are either distributed to people in need or sent for composting.
The Azusa branch will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
New CAVA Restaurant Opens in Chicago
CAVA’s fifth restaurant in Illinois made its way to 270 E Ontario Street on July 25. The Streeterville location will employ 25 to 40 local team members. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to continue to grow our presence in the greater Chicagoland area,” said Hannah Mathews, Regional Director.
Proceeds of the Streeterville Community Day event went to Chicagoland’s location of Food Rescue US. The nonprofit effort focuses on eradicating hunger while minimizing food waste. Volunteers collect surplus fresh produce from neighborhood vendors and deliver it to organizations that support people facing food insecurity.
The new Streeterville restaurant hours will be 10:45 a.m. through 10 p.m. daily.
CAVA appeals to a wide range of guests with its flavorful, health-focused menu. The chain stands out for combining everyday operations with initiatives that tackle food insecurity.
