Fat Sal’s, the Los Angeles-based sandwich specialist that stacks American classics, is looking to open a new location in Studio City, located at 12265 W. Ventura Blvd. Ste. 111
The proposed location will move into the former home of Jamba Juice Studio City at an unknown time. The company, led by founder Salvatore Capek, recently submitted documents to the Los Angeles Planning Department to open the company’s eighth location in the California Pavilion Shopping Mall, sitting on the other side of Green Apple China Bistro. Like all other locations, this Fat Sal’s will be on the smaller side with only 36 interior seats, making it a perfect grab-and-go option for shoppers on Ventura Boulevard.
If Capek receives approval from the city, the company’s seventh Los Angeles location will sit in a perfect spot with plenty of foot traffic. Ventura Boulevard features a long stretch of dining and retail with plenty of food options. In terms of sandwiches, the new Fat Sal’s will only have to compete with Art’s Delicatessen & Restaurant, Uncle Paulie’s, and a few chain sandwich shops such as Mendocino Farms, Panera Bread, and Subway. Unlike any of these eateries, Fat Sal’s has created a cult following for its fat-stacked, finger-licking sandwiches.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to visit one of their six Los Angeles sites (or one location in Saudi Arabia) knows exactly why it is one of Los Angeles’ most sought-out eateries. Each sandwich is stacked with American classics that will make cannabis enthusiasts proud. Take the Fat Jerry, for example, which features ribeye steak, grilled onions, American cheese, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bacon, a fried egg, fries, and plenty of condiments. The restaurant also features food challenges with winners making their own menu items.
