Van Nuys later this year will welcome two new fast-casual eateries in the Valley Royal Plaza shopping center, at 7600 Balboa Boulevard. Franchisee Arman Boghosian is opening a co-branded Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express in the center. The estimated opening is by October 5, 2020.
Fatburger is a burger, wings, and milkshake restaurant that has been in operation for over 60 years now. The chain specializes in never-frozen beef patties, scratch-made onion rings, and homemade chili. Los Angeles has approximately seven Fatburger locations with several more across California.
Buffalo’s Express was founded in Roswell, Georgia in 1984 and has since expanded to over 20 locations around the world. This fall’s seasonal menu includes the curiously named bacon ‘n cheese “potachos,” maple sriracha crispy brussel sprouts, sliders with crispy chicken, and chimi-churrasco steak.
FAT (Fresh. Authentic. Tasty.) Brands Inc., is the parent company of Fatburger, Buffalo’s Express, and six other restaurant concepts. It opened another co-branded location nearby in Eagle Rock, at 4945 Eagle Rock Blvd. Unit B, earlier this year.
“Over the last several weeks, LA has been hit hard with recent closures and new restrictions,” Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of FAT Brands, said at the time of the Eagle Rock opening. “That said, we are grateful to be able to move forward with opening our newest Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express location in the city, providing another spot for our loyal customers to get their favorite burgers, wings, and fries.”
