Fire Island Grill, the tropical quick-casual concept, has announced it has officially sold its first franchise in company history, coming to Santa Clarita.
Currently, the company has two corporate-owned locations in Southern California: one in Palmdale and another in Simi Valley. This third Los Angeles County location will be owned by franchisees Leo and Lorena Ardell. Leo tells What Now Los Angeles they are in the final leg of securing a location, hopefully opening in the next six to nine months. Founders Jimmy Sill, Rich Adams, and three other industry veterans started the company to engage all five senses, not just taste.
“Our first franchise deal is very exciting as it quickens our momentum in the franchise marketplace and helps us move faster into new markets,” Adams said in a press release. “Our team could not be more excited to welcome Leo and Lorena into the Fire Island family.”
While the company looks for more driven individuals to franchise the company throughout Southern California, those in Palmdale and Simi Valley have already had a chance to try this island-inspired eatery. This fast-casual restaurant features island-type fare ranging from rice bowls to sandwiches and salads; all served in a build-your-own-meal fashion. Every bowl or plate comes with stir-fried veggies and their choice of house-made sauces such as pineapple teriyaki, spicy teriyaki, Thai peanut, or Jamaican jerk.
