Firehouse Chicken, a one-year-old Nashville hot fried chicken pop-up, at 10315 Balboa Blvd, is going brick-and-mortar.
The permanent restaurant could open as early as the first week in April, at 15333 Sherman Way, Unit W, Co-Owner and Head Chef Vagarchak Harutyunyan in a telephone interview Wednesday told What Now Los Angeles.
“Angelenos who haven’t tried our chicken should definitely give us a try,” Harutyunyan said referring to a recent spike in Nashville hot chicken eateries “popping up on every corner” like the critically-acclaimed Hotville.
“We use a house blend of seasoning that’s the same on every piece of chicken and then we regulate the spice level with our sauce.”
David Atayan is Harutyunyan’s partner in the venture.
Replacing Pizzeria & Chicken in a roughly 1,000-square-foot space, Harutyunyan is working on securing outdoor seating for Firehouse Chicken but is keeping the restaurant’s format as an “easy in and out” concept.
In addition to its Nashville hot chicken and pineapple lemonade, patrons can expect new menu items like macaroni and cheese and grilled corn.
Churros will be served for dessert.
“We’re keeping everything really simple,” the “cook since I was 17,” said.
“I’ve worked around the kitchen and helped mom at home. This is something I grew into.”
Firehouse Kitchen isn’t Harutyunyan’s first entrepreneurial foray.
The restauranteur is a partner in the Fit Meal LA meal prep company.
“We’re really excited about this grand opening and we’re going to make some loud noise.”
Firehouse Chicken is coming to De Soto Square on De Soto and Nordhoff in Chatsworth. Restaurant is under construction and open soon. Address 9171 De Soto Ave., Chatswoth, CA 91311. Can’t wait, yummy!
Jose, thanks for the comment. Firehouse Chicken ownership tells us that they are not planning a Chatsworth location. Is it possible that a restaurant with a similar name is opening in De Soto Square? Thanks! ~ Caleb
