Alessandro Nicolaci’s First & Last Club will open at the former 525 DTLA this summer.
A hospitality consultant by trade, Nicolaci was continuously drawn to the space at 525 West 7th Street before officially locking it down to become an Italian coast-inspired Euro beach club.
The venue will serve graze-friendly fare like charcuterie and meat boards featuring regional meats and cheeses and fluffy focaccia sandwiches stuffed with mortadella — a favorite of Nicolaci’s who lived in Italy until the age of 12.
What’s more, First & Last will have a coastal, neon feel meant to transport diners away from the concrete-laden hustle and bustle of the city to a more tranquil and vacation-esque atmosphere.
Nicolaci’s first brick-and-mortar endeavor of his own, First & Last will serve beer — 40 taps — wine, and frozen-format beverages that will surely enhance the chill vibes during its scorching August debut.
Despite the venue’s name, Nicolaci is adamant that First & Last is not a club. In fact, to avoid the malevolence that tends to take place between midnight and 2 am, First & Last will be open from 11:30 am to 12 am.
Lounge if you so desire — eat and drink like an Italian beach-dweller for the day/night — but this spot is intended for those who want to start and finish their night relaxed, well-fed, and looking forward to their next visit.
