The Jons Marketplace-anchored shopping center in Van Nuys, at the corner of Sherman Way and Sepulveda Blvd, next year could be home to Starbucks.

Kaidence Group, a real estate consultant for national brands like Walgreens and Quiktrip, is working with the coffee house giant to get the necessary approvals to build a shiny-new Starbucks at the northeast corner of Sepulveda Boulevard and Vose Street.

Union Bank’s former site, at 7040 Sepulveda Blvd, would be demolished and the 2,200-square-foot Starbucks would be built from the ground-up in its place, according to plans submitted recently to the City of Los Angeles.

Once complete, the Starbucks would offer a drive-thru and outdoor seating.

The planned ground-up outpost is likely a relocation of an existing Starbucks that is a stone’s throw away in the Vintage Plaza shopping center, at 15355 Sherman Way #A.

A shift manager for the Vintage Plaza Starbucks when reached Monday by What Now Los Angeles said a move was “up in the air.”

Reps for Kaidence Group did not immediately respond to a request for comment by What Now Los Angeles.
