Gott’s Roadside has received formal approval from the City of Los Angeles to open its first Southern California location at the historic Farmers Market, clearing the way for the popular Napa Valley-based eatery to debut in Los Angeles at 6301 W 3rd Street, Unit #706.

The new restaurant, expected to open in Fall 2025, will be located at the northwest corner of the market, facing Fairfax Avenue. The project was recently approved by the Los Angeles Planning Department, which granted permission for the 2,486-square-foot full-service space to operate daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., including the sale and on-site consumption of beer and wine. As part of the approval, the restaurant will feature 43 indoor seats and two outdoor dining areas, totaling 2,070 square feet, with 130 combined outdoor seats. It will also include an expanded terrace and a new 1,000-square-foot patio situated across a pedestrian walkway.

The Planning Department imposed several operating conditions to ensure the space remains focused on food service and maintains community standards. These include the requirement for a fully operational kitchen at all times, a comprehensive food menu during business hours, and limitations that restrict the use of the space as a bar, nightclub, or entertainment venue. Additional conditions include installing surveillance cameras, requiring employee alcohol service training, utilizing age verification devices, and enforcing strict controls on noise and loitering. The approval also allows for compliance monitoring and community complaint response, with the possibility of a future review by the Zoning Administrator if violations occur.

The proposal received a letter of support from the Mid City West Neighborhood Council and a non-opposition letter from the LAPD, which included 29 operating conditions; all of these conditions were accepted. A public hearing held on July 3, 2025, yielded no objections from nearby residents or businesses. Approval from the Office of Historic Resources was also required and granted due to the location’s historic designation.

Founded by brothers Joel and Duncan Gott in St. Helena in 1999, Gott’s Roadside has garnered a cult following for its modern take on American roadside fare. The menu features items like Ahi tacos, hand-spun organic shakes, and the California Burger, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The beverage program, curated by winemaker Joel Gott, focuses on California wines and craft beers.

The Farmers Market location marks the company’s first foray into Southern California, with a second outpost planned for Santa Monica in 2026.
