Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, a national ice cream chain that has been making its products fresh at each store since 1945, is preparing to open a new location in Burbank at North Pass Avenue.
The company’s newest location is set to move into a vacant space next to Bea Beas in the Lakeside Shopping Center. The new Handel’s Ice Cream will open in the former home of the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center. Franchise owner Phil Kaye tells What Now Los Angeles that he and his wife, Molly, plan to open this site in Spring 2025. The duo owns the Handel’s Ice Cream in Los Feliz at 4531 Hollywood Boulevard, located within The Elinor.
On top of becoming a local franchise owner of the brand, Phil Kaye is also a professional poet, while Molly Kaye is a marriage and family therapist. The couple will open the store together and live close to the new store. These first-time business owners have transformed their love for ice cream into a community hub, offering 48 irresistible ice cream flavors made fresh in the store. The company uses an abundance of only the best-tasting ingredients and is proud to be recognized as the #1 ice cream on the planet by National Geographic Magazine.
The new location proves Handel’s Ice Cream is focused on expanding within California. The company recently opened a handful of other locations in the state, including Oxnard, San Diego, Glendora, Irvine, Thousand Oaks, and more. The company is also opening a new location in Rialto, which is expected to open later this year. Each location features a blend of iconic favorites and location-specific flavors, rotating each month. The newest flavor on the menu is Sticky Fingers, made with sea salt caramel truffles, brownie pieces, peanut butter ice cream, and caramel sauce.
