After closing one of its locations on Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood Burger’s owners hope this won’t deter the company from expanding throughout Los Angeles.
Hollywood Burger had planned to close its location at 8807 Santa Monica Boulevard after Sunday, February 9, but instead shuttered unexpectedly on Thursday, several days ahead of schedule, according to WeHo Online. While news of the closure devastated the community, it’s not the end for the company. The restaurant, led by president Kevin Shea, is still at the corner of Hollywood and Vine at 6250 Hollywood Boulevard.
General Manager Kenny Goodman recently spoke with WeHo Online about the closure of the Hollywood Burger location and the company’s plans. Goodman explained that the business implemented several changes to survive, such as extending operating hours and adding new items to the menu. They attempted to remain open until midnight and introduced a monthly special for burgers and shakes. Unfortunately, these initiatives did not succeed, and the company ultimately closed due to a lack of foot traffic.
Of course, customers can still visit the sole location in Hollywood. Goodman says the company will likely stay at this spot for a while before opening in a new location. Hollywood Burger hopes to open eight to ten more stores in the LA area, but exact neighborhoods and timelines have yet to be decided. Despite the closure of one location, the company isn’t done yet and still hopes to expand throughout Los Angeles, offering gourmet burgers, fries, and milkshakes in a colorful space.
