Holy Basil will open its second iteration at 3166 Glendale Boulevard in Atwater Village this November, according to Co-founder Wedchayan “Deau” Arpapornnopparat.

The location was meant to debut much earlier this year in February, but complications with construction put a wrench in the family-owned businesses’ plans.

Specializing in Bangkok-style Thai grub, Holy Basil first opened in DTLA’s Fashion District during the pandemic, which paired perfectly with its takeaway-only method.

The Glendale Blvd. spot will operate similarly, “with room for pickup and takeaway only, plus some communal tables to be shared among other tenants.” Assuming the menu remains consistent, Holy Basil Atwater will serve rice bowls, noodles, curries, soups, and sides & starters. A detailed breakdown of its offerings can be found here.

Presently, Arpapornnopparat and Co-founder Tongkamal “Joy” Yuon are crowd-funding to rebuild the space’s hood installation and HVAC. However, the campaign is of an “all-or-nothing” nature, meaning the project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Monday, November 6, 2023, at 7:20 PM PST.
