Shawarma, falafels, gyros, oh my! The immensely popular Brooklyn-based Mediterranean restaurant has drifted into the land of movies.
The Californian premiere of The Hummus & Pita Co. will take place at 6150 Laurel Canyon Boulevard in the NOHO West Shopping Center this June, according to a press release this week. This location will be the first of the “five-unit franchise deal signed with well-known Southern California multi-concept operator, Dan Markel.”
The experienced franchise operator and restaurant investor already has his eyes set on The Hummus & Pita Co.’s second California location: Toluca Lake, the celebrity-brimming neighborhood dreamily nuzzled in the San Fernando Valley. Studio City, Burbank, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Mission Hills are “currently being scouted” as potential locations for the remainder three units.
All of the above neighborhoods would serve as ideal homes for this fresh and health-focused company, which is “devoted to bringing high-quality, flavorful food to as many people as possible.”
The Hummus & Pita Co. prides itself on “combining authentic flavors from across the Mediterranean with family recipes that have been developed from generation to generation.” The Mediterranean restaurant distinguishes itself by foregrounding its freshness, health-consciousness, and abundant vegetarian and vegan options, such as its signature Vegan Morrocan Meatballs and Shawarma.
The Brooklyn-based company will certainly do well in the racially and ethnically diverse neighborhood of North Hollywood. More over, The Hummus & Pita Co. has secured a corner cap location, which seats 30 indoors, in the shopping center and “a wraparound outdoor patio that seats 20 and feeds into a European piazza-style area.”
