Has your gluten allergy prevented you from experiencing the foamy, refreshing taste of beer? Despair no more. The science-leaning beer goddesses have answered.
Divine Science Brewing offers a range of gluten-free ales, lagers, stouts, and IPAs, which are currently available at any Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres, Total Wine, and BevMo! in California. Among its diverse collection of formidable goddess-themed beers are the Third Contact IPA, the Event Horizon (blonde ale), the Divine Millsner (California-Czech pilsner), and the Moka Diosa (mocha stout)–all made from premium malted gluten-free grains like millet, buckwheat, rice, and lentils, and all brewed to perfection.
Personally affected by the autoimmune disease and fueled by their love of beer, co-founders Robert and Dominique Keifer donned their lab coats and went to work experimenting with different grains to create delectable gluten-free beers.
Dominique told What Now Los Angeles that she and her husband “wanted to create a place for people who have celiac disease to feel at home.” The couple, having maintained a gluten-free diet for nearly a decade, knows the pain of going to a bar and missing out on the opportunity of ordering a beer. After years of home brewing and traveling all the way to Washington for the experience, the brewmasters set out on making it local reality because, as Dominique said, “everyone should have a seat at the table.”
Soon locals will get to enjoy these tasty, thirst-quenching gluten-free beers on tap at Divine Science Brewing’s first taproom at 15481 Red Hill Avenue in Tustin. The brew pub will have an open layout with approximately 35 seats and offer between 5 to 7 taps as well as a small menu of gluten-free paninis, wraps, and baked goods. The couple also has future plans to expand into the neighboring units to create space for a tasting room.
Divine Science Brewing will debut in early August and serve its delicious gluten-free beers Thursdays through Sundays. Be sure to check back here for updates on the exact opening date.
