It’s Boba Time is opening up its very first Lancaster location, after getting its start in Koreatown some years ago. AJ Hutalla, who’s been a franchisee since 2018, will operate the location at 1102 W Avenue K. Hutalla confirmed with What Now Los Angeles (WNLA) that they hope to open by May.

“We have something for everyone,” Hutalla said. “What most excited me is seeing little kids and people just happy with the product.” The franchisee decided to open his own storefront when they tried It’s Boba Time for the first time, saying the product was delicious.

It’s Boba Time began franchising out in 2015 and, since then, has opened over 50 locations across California. For this new location, Hutalla is anticipating the build-out to begin in April but is currently awaiting approval. That may take some time, the franchisee said, considering the holidays and COVID both have things “backlogged.” Recently, It’s Boba Time set up plans to open up a shop in The Mandel in a space once owned by Subway

Hutalla also runs a Yoshinoya, along with several other It’s Boba Time locations. As for any future openings of either brand, Hutalla is “just focusing on Its Boba Time for the time being.”
