Javier’s, an upscale Mexican restaurant known for its vibrant ambiance and elevated Mexican cuisine, is getting ready to open a new location in Pasadena at 24 Union St.

The company’s eighth location, and third in Los Angeles County, is set to move into the former home of Il Fornaio in the One Colorado Shopping Center, according to a recent liquor license application. It’s unclear when co-owners Mark Post and Javier Sosa expect to open this new location, but when they do, customers can expect a memorable dining experience in a stylish setting. Javier’s already has locations in La Jolla, Irvine, Century City, Downtown Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Newport Beach, and Los Cabos.

The restaurant’s menu is shaped by chefs from various regions of Mexico who contribute family recipes and regional dishes. The restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine, utilizing high-quality ingredients. Menu offerings include seafood, beef, pork, chicken, and vegetarian options. Javier’s sources prime Angus beef from Omaha, Nebraska, and uses only fresh, seasonal seafood. All seafood served is sustainable, including white Mexican prawns, U-10 scallops, Dungeness crab, and Maine lobster.

“Javier’s presents a rich heritage of elevated Mexican cuisine in a friendly, captivating ambiance,” according to the company’s website. “Enjoy hand-shaken margaritas, rare tequilas, craft cocktails, and a vast selection of beer and fine wines. Dine with us in the main dining room, al fresco patios, one of our intimate private dining rooms, or at the exquisite bar surrounded by one of the West Coast’s largest selection of the world’s finest tequilas. We at Javier’s consider all our wonderful customers a part of our family and thank them for their support and sharing in the success and joy that is Javier’s.”
