Joe’s Pizza, a New York-style pizzeria known for its hand-tossed thin crust and classic pies, is getting ready to open in Los Angeles at 3400 Overland Avenue.
The company’s newest location is set to move into the Palms neighborhood, though an exact opening date has not been announced, according to the company’s website. Founded by Sicilian-born Giuseppe “Joe” Vitale, Joe’s Pizza has grown into a go-to spot for no-nonsense pizza lovers across Los Angeles. Customers can expect the same signature slices found at the brand’s other locations, including the popular White Pie, Grandma Slice, and Meat Lovers Pie.
Joe’s Pizza first opened in Santa Monica in 2007 after Vitale relocated from Brooklyn, where he launched his original shop in Park Slope in 2003. The Los Angeles market responded quickly to the brand’s East Coast authenticity, and Joe’s Pizza expanded steadily over the years with locations in Hollywood, Downtown LA, Sherman Oaks, Beverly Hills, Mid City, Studio City, and now Palms.
Each Joe’s Pizza restaurant emphasizes a straightforward approach: fresh ingredients, recipes made from scratch daily, and a casual counter-service format. The brand’s aesthetic and menu are rooted in Joe’s New York beginnings, while also catering to a broad LA customer base.
The Palms location will continue to offer Joe’s full menu, including classic cheese, pepperoni, and Sicilian pies, along with specialty items like the Caprese, BBQ Chicken, and Vegan Cheese pizzas. Non-pizza offerings include garlic knots, calzones, meatball heroes, and cannoli. Gluten-free options, including cauliflower crust pies, are also available.
Joe’s Pizza has built a reputation for being welcoming and community-focused. “At Joe’s, community is very important to us. Whether you’re a business person, an actor, a local shopkeeper, a professional, or a construction worker, you’re part of the family and we’re proud to serve you.”
