Popular Italian eatery Jon & Vinny’s last week filed for a beer and wine sales permit for its upcoming Hyde Park location, at 4400 W Slauson Avenue. The application as of Wednesday is pending, but the submission moves the restaurant one step closer to opening. The timeline for doing so is still TBD in light of the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, Co-Owner Jonathan Michael Shook Wednesday told What Now Los Angeles. Shook’s repertoire of Los Angeles restaurants includes Animal, Son of a Gun, Petit Trois, among others.

John & Vinny’s currently offers locations in Fairfax, at 412 North Fairfax Avenue and a newish outpost in Brentwood, at 11938 San Vicente Boulevard, serving everything from buttermilk pancakes, spaghetti carbonara with pancetta, to several types of pizzas, some with housemade chorizo and some with local burrata.

The one-story building in Hyde Park spans 4,922 square feet and offers 22 parking spaces, and was formerly home to Yee’s Chinese.
