Kura Sushi, a Japanese revolving sushi restaurant known for its conveyor belt dining experience, is getting ready to open in Canoga Park at 6600 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Space 1290.

The company’s new location is set to open within the Westfield Topanga shopping center, according to the company’s website. While an exact opening date has not been shared, the restaurant joins a slate of new developments from the brand throughout California. Customers can expect conveyor belt dining, a wide variety of sushi selections, and the use of traditional Japanese ingredients across the menu.

Kura Sushi continues to expand its presence in the state, operating more than twenty restaurants with several more listed as coming soon. Additional California locations are planned for Orange, Mission Valley, Temecula, and Union City. The Westfield Topanga opening will add another Los Angeles County site to the company’s existing locations in Glendale, Sherman Oaks, Sawtelle, Little Tokyo, and Koreatown.

Founded in Japan, Kura Sushi emphasizes the use of natural ingredients and traditional preparation methods. The chain features imported wasabi, a proprietary vinegar blend used in its sushi rice, and broth made from kombu kelp and fish flakes sourced from Kyoto. These components help maintain consistency across all Kura locations in the United States, Japan, and Taiwan.

The menu includes an extensive selection of nigiri, rolls, gunkan, hand rolls, soups, and noodle dishes. Items range from tuna, salmon, and yellowtail nigiri to specialty rolls such as the Tiger Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. Guests can also order hand rolls in seaweed or soy paper, along with udon, ramen, and desserts that support the brand’s focus on Japanese flavors and preparation.

Westfield Topanga offers a diverse dining collection that ranges from quick-service concepts to full-service restaurants. Current tenants include North Italia, The Cheesecake Factory, STK Steakhouse, Amboy, JINYA Ramen Bar, Panda Express, Massis Kabob, and California Pizza Kitchen. The property also features numerous fast-casual and specialty food operators, including Chipotle, Fat Sal’s, Beignet Box, Wanderlust Creamery, It’s Boba Time, and Topanga Social, offering shoppers a diverse range of dining options throughout the center.
