La Sirenita Express is no longer open for business in Van Nuys, at 15355 Sherman Way.

The Village Plaza Mexican eatery quietly closed its doors earlier this year, leaving a single remaining Panorama City location, the restaurant’s original since 1994.

But the corner space, at 15355 Sherman Way Ste A adjacent Healing Needle Acupuncture, won’t sit dark long.

Francesco’s Italian Cusine will soon open in La Sirenita Express’s place serving “Italian specialties, pasta, and pizzas,” according to the forthcoming restaurant’s voicemail.

An exact opening date has not yet been announced, but Francesco’s has started hiring for the restaurant.

Once open, Francesco’s will operate Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
