Local restaurateur Juan Andia launched into a new venture several months ago, taking over ownership at Landmark Cafe at 11750 Wilshire Blvd.

The spot serves coffee, smoothies, teas, breakfast, lunch and pastries. Menu items include avocado toast, breakfast burritos, French toast and chicken quesadillas.

Andia is also one of the owners behind Peruvian Bowl in Venice Beach at 517 Ocean Front Walk.

“A year and four months ago, I opened Peruvian Bowl in Venice Beach,” Andia told What Now Los Angeles. “One of the real estate agents told me about Landmark Cafe, so I came over to see it. I saw it was a beautiful place and it just needed some care.”

Peruvian Bowl was the beginning of the realization of a dream for Andia, who has wanted to own a restaurant and share food with his community since he was a kid.

“That was one of my dreams — to have something like that to serve the community the right way,” Andia said.

Andia’s plan is to continue to emphasize fresh food, and the restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Thus far, Andia has seen a positive response from customers.

“They feel like they are at home,” Andia said. “The service that we give to them and the dedication has been amazing. I’m so proud of my team.”

For Andia, Landmark Cafe will allow him to extend his reach in serving the community, building on Peruvian Bowl.

“Peruvian Bowl has been a dream. We started from nothing and we have great reviews,” Andia said. “I love bringing delicious Peruvian food to people and I enjoy it when people say positive things about our food and service. It inspires me a lot. I have dreamed since I was a little kid to have a restaurant and to sell food.”

Moving forward, Andia hopes to open additional locations for both Landmark Cafe and Peruvian Bowl, bringing the concepts to different areas within the city.

“The highlight is meeting different people,” Andia said. “There are people coming from different parts of the state and world, and they come to Landmark Cafe. That’s what I enjoy — meeting new people.”
