Italian-based pizzeria L’antica Pizzeria da Michele plans to add another Los Angeles location in Long Beach, located at 4611 2nd St.

The Long Beach location plans to move into the former home of Papalucci’s in Spring 2022. Owner Francesco Zimone says he will use the 5,000 square feet of space for two businesses: Antica Pizzeria and Antica Cafe. Both establishments will share a courtyard in Belmont Shore in a resort-style surrounding. The three areas will make up a triangular space for the establishment. The company is also in the process of opening a 6,000 square-foot West Village location in New York City around the same time.

Zimone calls this new restaurant “by far the most difficult build he has ever seen or worked on.” When the restaurant opens next year, customers will find all the favorites that the restaurant has brought from Naples, Italy, since 1870. The restaurant also offers charcuterie boards, appetizers, and desserts, including a large gelato selection. On top of that authentic menu, L’antica Pizzeria da Michele also has an extensive wine, cocktail, and beer list. Antica Cafe will highlight the restaurant’s morning selection of coffee and teas, along with other smaller snacks.

“Similarly to the Hollywood outpost, diners will have the pleasure of watching their Neapolitan-style pizzas and handmade pastas come to life through glass walls dividing the dining area from the pizzeria and pastificio,” according to a press release.
