Layla Bagels and Coffee, a growing Southern California bagel and coffee shop known for its hand-rolled sourdough bagels, is getting ready to open in Brentwood at 908 S Barrington Avenue.

The company’s third location will move into part of the former Contempo Floor Covering building, which is being divided to accommodate both Layla and Sora Temaki Bar, according to ToddRickAllen. Window coverings were recently installed, showing the split layout, with Sora taking the right side of the space and Layla taking the remaining portion. While an exact opening date has not been announced, the Brentwood shop will join Layla’s existing locations in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Customers can expect the brand’s well-known sourdough bagels, sandwiches, and coffee served daily.

Layla Bagels and Coffee has built a loyal following thanks to its focus on simple, consistent offerings centered on fresh-baked sourdough bagels. The company first opened in Santa Monica on Ocean Park Boulevard before expanding to Beverly Hills on South Beverly Drive. Both shops operate daily from morning through early afternoon and feature a focused menu built around bagels, sandwich variations, and pastries. The Brentwood arrival marks continued growth for the brand on the Westside.

Layla’s menu includes a variety of open-face and closed-face sandwiches made with its signature bagels. Options range from smoked salmon with herb cream cheese to tomato and cucumber combinations, turkey sandwiches on stuffing bagels, tuna salad, and multiple breakfast-style offerings with egg, bacon, or cheddar. The shop also serves bagels with spreads, Original Sunshine gluten-free bagels, salads, and pastries such as babka muffins, cookies, and seasonal baked goods. Coffee drinks come with a choice of cow’s milk, oat milk, or almond milk and a selection of simple syrups.

This will be an excellent landing space for Layla Bagels and Coffee, especially given Brentwood’s steady morning foot traffic and demand for quick breakfast options. The brand’s focus on sourdough bagels and straightforward sandwiches fits well with the community’s mix of residential and office customers.
