Le Cafe De La Plage, a coffee shop based in Malibu with a location in Santa Monica at 1301 Montana Avenue, is getting ready to expand to the space next door at 1303 Montana Avenue.

The company’s second site, owned and operated by Bernard and Sophie Benita, is opening next door in the former home of Savida at the corner of Euclid Street and Montana Avenue, first reported by Toddrickallen. It’s unclear when Le Cafe De La Plage expects to open its expanded Santa Monica location, but it will likely be sometime this year. The extended space will allow customers to enjoy food from the menu, which includes breakfast, baguette sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffee, tea, and more.

While Le Cafe De La Plage serves various delicious French-inspired meals and snacks, the cafe is known for its small-batch, handmade ice cream that uses only the best and freshest ingredients. Benita and his wife moved to California a few years ago and wanted to offer a one-stop shop for beach-goers and locals with flavorful ice cream as the star. After setting up shop in Malibu at 29169 Heathercliff Road, the company expanded to a second location in Santa Monica. Now, the owners are ready to develop this location so more customers can enjoy these delicious offerings.

“Explore our breakfast and lunch menu, capitalizing on local and organic foods,” according to the company’s website. “Inspired by French culture, we are home to a vast assortment of beautiful pastries and exquisite Intelligentsia coffee. We are also home to a classic and vegan ice cream line, hand-crafted exclusively by our owners. From the house-made waffle cone to the elaborate pairings of French lavender and local blueberry, your palate will be awakened. Enjoy “Only Good Vibes” on our beautiful outdoor terrace and a photo booth to capture the memory!”
