A new yet-to-be-named restaurant is getting ready to move into the former home of Commerson in Los Angeles at 788 S La Brea Ave.

Vinny and Mindy Kinne are the husband-and-wife team who met at a bar and now own and operate three restaurants in the area, including Met Him at a Bar, Met Her at a Bar, and Her Thai. Now, the duo are getting ready to open a fourth concept in the former home of Commerson on the ground floor of the Wilshire LaBrea apartment building, according to a recent liquor license application. It’s unknown if the two are opening a new concept or moving an existing restaurant to the space.

It’s most likely the couple will open a new concept in this space, considering all three of their other restaurants sit within a stone’s throw distance of each other. Across from the vacant Commerson space is the home of Met Her At A Bar, a cafe that focuses on Belgian waffles, breakfast, sandwiches, and more. Across the street from Met Her At A Bar is the duo’s sister restaurant, Met Him At A Bar, which serves as an Italian restaurant. Next to that is the couple’s Thai concept, Her Thai. With the acquisition of the Commerson space, the two will eventually own and operate restaurant concepts on three of the four corners of West 8th Street and La Brea Avenue.

While it’s unclear what this concept will be, it could be named The Night We Met, considering The Night We Met Inc. is the primary owner of this liquor license. Despite the limited public information, this will be an excellent location for the new restaurant. With a handful of sister concepts nearby, the new restaurant will see plenty of foot traffic from other nearby businesses. More information regarding the new concept will be revealed in the new year.
